His mercy endures forever.
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good,
for his mercy endures forever;
Give thanks to the God of gods,
for his mercy endures forever;
Give thanks to the LORD of lords,
for his mercy endures forever.
His mercy endures forever.
Matthew 19: 3 – 12 He said in reply, “Have you not read that from the beginning the Creator made them male and female and said, For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, man must not separate.”
Can I think of any other conversation in the Gospel that is as specific as the one on divorce? Why is this passage interpreted more literally than most of the rest of what Jesus said?
Action: Do something nice for your spouse [or your community or yourself if you are not married].
